Since 2001, local authorities have been able to adopt the powers of the DVLA to act on untaxed as well as abandoned vehicles. More information is available at [www.dvla.gov.uk] The Arson Control Forum is a Government-led national body set up to reduce arson-related deaths, injuries and damage. Established in April 2001, the Forum has a strategic programme of arson prevention and encourages multi-agency working and gathering research and information. Stakeholders include the Fire and Rescue Service, local authorities, the police service, insurance companies and Government departments.
