The Westmorland Gazette’s Stop the Tippers campaign



The campaign, which aims to educate people about the growing problem and highlight instances of illegal dumping, was backed by Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Collins, who vowed to take the issue to Westminster.
Mr Collins, who wants to see the Government introduce stiffer penalties and allow councils in South Lakeland to keep the revenue from fly-tipping fines, has promised to highlight the campaign’s findings with environment ministers.
